After you have completed your list of all of your furnishings or items you want to be moved, you can print and fax your list or just give us a call and read your inventory list over the phone, along with other information (moving conditions) and particulars (whether it is an apartment or house, what floor? etc.) We can give you a guaranteed price that will not change on move day unless you add to your inventory. Once a price is given, it cannot be lowered on move day. However, if you have less than your previous quoted inventory on move day, we can substitute another item in its place. All dresser drawers, chests, and armoires must be emptied. Please disconnect stereo, computer, cable boxes and other electronic equipment.
There are no hourly prices or travel time charges for us to come to you wherever you are in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area (up to a 50 mile radius from Washington, D.C. (Call us for official distance) There is no extra charge for one item, apartment or house.
We also do in house moves. We will move one item in house/apartment (to upper level, lower level, next room, garage or curbside); across town or small house; load and unload truck, trailers, crates or storage unit (need itemized list -- one item or everything.) We offer 24 hours, 7 days a week emergency moves (based on availability.) You don’t need a reservation to use our service. We book on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no hidden charges for any of our services. There is no charge for the disassembling and reassembling of beds, mirrors on dressers, and all other simple basic furniture that do not require special tools. (There is an extra charge for the disassembly and reassembly of exercise equipment.) Call our office for information. Our price also includes a truck and two men. Depending on move size, there will be no extra charge for additional man power. We provide quilted furniture pads to protect your furniture, along with insurance coverage for the items being moved. Your furniture will be placed one time where you want it within reason.
Elevators must be reserved at apartment buildings by the customer before your move day, so that the movers can have exclusive use of an elevator without interruption from tenants or other movers. Scheduling your move with apartment management will help to ensure that notice and procedures are given. If there is an interruption from tenants or other movers, an additional charge may apply. Also, loading areas and parking spaces (at least one or two spaces) are needed as close to the apartment, house or storage entrance as possible at pick up and drop off for our truck to park. You may have to block off parking spaces the day or night before where you are moving from and where you are going to.
If you are going to have a piano moved by our service, you will need to have this information available when you call us in order to get a guaranteed price quote.
We will need to know the location of the piano and where it is going. What is the model of the piano? Is it an upright, console, Spinet, etc.? (Please note: we do not move grand or baby grand pianos.) We would also need the height of the piano (at its tallest point from the back.) Another way to measure the height of your piano is to stand next to the piano and tell us over the phone where on your body the tallest part of the piano reaches you (i.e., chest high, waist high, or lower, etc.) We can estimate the height and give you a guaranteed price. How many steps (if any) at pickup and drop-off locations? Are there any sharp turns to get the piano out of or into your destination? Will the piano have to be flipped up on its side to get in or out at pick-up or drop-off? Will the piano have to be carried up or down any hill, across grass, concrete, asphalt, or dirt? What is the approximate distance or drive time between stops (pickup and drop-off)? The details that we get from you help to ensure you a safe delivery of your piano. |
